Playstation : PSN is still down for PS4 and PS5 users after 12 hours, with the outage continuing from Friday to Saturday. It is reported to be the largest PSN outage ever. That’s 5 hours more than when PSN was last down in October. However, it’s unlikely that PSN will be down for as long as the 2011 cyber attack that shut it down for 24 days.
The problems are more severe than usual. Usually, when PSN is down it’s down for less than an hour. Meanwhile, the worst-case scenario is usually that it’s fixed overnight. It’s been more than an hour and now it’s the next day and PSN is still down.
As long as PSN is down, PS3, PS4, PS5, PS Vita, PSN VR and PSN Portal users won’t be able to use any online functionality. As the PSN service status page states, the problems are widespread. Every single part of PSN – Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Video, PSN Store, and PlayStation Direct – is down.
To put it simply, while Account Management is down, PSN users on PS4 and PS5 and other PlayStation platforms will not be able to sign in to PSN, create a PSN account, or edit their PSN account details. While Gaming and Social is down, PS4 and PS5 users will also not be able to play online games or interact with their friends via PSN.

PSN was first down on February 7 at 7 PM ET. About 2 hours later, at around 8:46 PM, the official psn support account, Ask PlayStation, released a statement, saying that it was “aware that some users are currently experiencing issues with PSN. At the time, PlayStation did not say why PSN was down or when it would return, and there is still no clarity on any of these things from PSN or its parent company Sony.
