A shocking case has come to light from Odisha. Where a dispute has started between two people regarding the Padma Award. Both are claiming that they have received the Padma Award for 2023. But now this matter has escalated so much that both the parties have reached the court. Let us tell you that on February 24, both the parties have to reach the Odisha High Court and present their side.
In fact, the name of ‘Antaryaami Mishra’ of Odisha is recorded at 56th place in the list of Padma Shri award winners for 2023. He was honored for his contribution to literature and education, Antaryami Mishra, a journalist by profession, went to New Delhi and received this award from President Draupadi Murmu.
However, later Dr. Antaryami Mishra, a doctor by profession, filed a petition in the High Court. He claimed that a person with his name has obtained the award by taking his name.
The other side claims to have written 29 books
On the other hand, filing a writ petition claiming the other side, Dr. Mishra has claimed that he has written 29 books in Odia and other Indian languages, due to which his name has been included in the list of Padma Shri award winners for 2023. According to the petitioner, the journalist has no book to his name.
At the same time, during the hearing on this matter, Justice SK Panigrahi said that despite the strict verification process of the government, there has been a mess due to similar names, which has raised concerns over the credibility of the selection process.
Padma Award : Notice also given to the respondents
The court has directed both the claimants to appear in person with all the publications and materials to substantiate their claims. Notices have also been issued to the respondents including the government in this case.
