BJP : After the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections on Saturday (8 February), Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi reached the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi to celebrate the party’s victory and greet supporters.
Let us tell you that for the first time in 27 years, the party has won the election in the huge metropolis of Delhi. And has defeated one of its most prominent critics. Which is a much-needed boost for the party after losing the majority at the national level last year.
According to data released online by the Election Commission of India, Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 48 seats in the 70-member assembly of the capital region. After which Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a post on his Instagram that development has won, good governance has won.
I salute my dear sisters and brothers of Delhi for this magnificent and historic mandate. One of Modi’s most prominent rivals and former Chief Minister of the capital Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got only 22 seats.

The capital has long been an obstacle to electoral gains for the BJP, which has swept much of India over the past decade, and the party last won power here in 1998.
