Argentina Canal: A big news has come from the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, in fact a canal located in a suburb here suddenly turned bright red on Thursday. The color of the Sarandí canal, located on the border of the ecological reserve, worried local residents.
But this is not the first time they have seen the water change color. At the same time, a resident, Silvia, said that in the past its color had become “yellow, and our throats also got sore from its pungent smell. It is reported that the dark water was probably caused by the dumping of textile dye or chemical waste from a nearby depot.
Residents also say that many local companies dispose of toxic waste in the waterway, which passes through an area of leather processing and textile factories about 10 km (6 miles) from the center of the capital. The cause of the color change is currently being investigated.
