AI summit India : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 11 proposed that India host the next AI Action Summit at the summit held in France and that the next AI Summit will also be held in India. He made the proposal during his closing address at the event which he co-chaired with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Secretary of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) S Krishnan confirmed this in a media interaction after the summit. Addressing the plenary session, Prime Minister Modi said that the world is now entering the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emphasized the need for ethical, inclusive, and people-centered AI applications in this direction.

What did PM Modi say on AI Summit: In his address, Prime Minister Modi also discussed India’s growing role in AI adoption and described it as potentially capable of driving global development, especially in the Global South. He called for collective efforts to create a global governance framework for AI. For this, he also emphasized the need to focus on shared values, face risks and promote trust.
